    Chris,

Interesting shots. I love the idea on the first one...though I think maybe a more "subtle" red would work better, but I think that's more a personal preference if anything. Great lighting on her face as well.

For the second one, great pose and a wonderful range of tones. A little hot on the left hand side though. Great shot.

i donlt really like the red lips, they are to small and the red is to bright for them. i think they really need to be bigger to draw me in more. like jsut a face shot, and then have the lips be colored. (of course it might work better with a larger print)

I really like the first one, it jumps out for me. The second just doesn't have the pop value of the first one. I can't tell you why.......

In the first shot her eyes look great, but the lips are distracting.
    I like the second shot.

I also find the lips in the first image distracting. I like the idea behind it, but I'm not a big fan of the way this one turned out. For me it looks too painted on. Perhaps masking the area off that you want to leave color so there isn't such a hard edge to the color would make it look better.

Re: Couple of shots worked in PS

Hi CB,,,,I have tried similar things with fashion/glamour images and have had them knocked on the head..What works well IMHO is to sepia tone the image and use very subtle colouring to the lips and/or clothing..This would work well on your first image...

Having said that your first image is great..I like the pose and the lighting...The second image the lighting is a tad harsh and watch your extremities like fingers etc...Also I would have cloned out the railing thingy on the wall behind your wife to the right..When I started as a trainee photographer all those years ago my boss gave me some good advise I still use today....Learn to look "square" and have a good look around the edges of your view finder..Check out what is intruding into your image and what you have chopped off..

    All in all,,good attempt..

Well thanks to everyone for your input! I will take all of it and incorporate it in my next group of shots and I agree the red lips may be too much.

    regards
