Looks a challenging place to plough and sow a crop GB........
Seriously this is a stunning vista and I can see why you bothered to make the effort to get there. As far as the image is concerned, IMO its a rough craggy terrain and as such I think it needs a bit more detail to be bought out with your PP skills. I don't think it being a bit harsh would hurt.

Isn't it a cool thing in nature that the colours never seem to clash...
Thanks. I wish I had a wider lens ... 24mm is it for now. Most of the wider ones are DX lens, and the (I think) 16-24mm is a bit out of my price range at the moment (but will keep an eye on eBay). I played w/ this one a bit more and got it a tad sharper, but it may not be that much more correctable with my present tools. Here's another shot I took just after it - seems more ominous to me ... better?

Thanks fellows - it's a surprise to get the sticky! When I look at this one and the adjustment, I think the adjusted, darker one works a tad better. Hope it isn't over sharpened (I'm a little paranoid about that).
I am sorta missing the mountains since I returned. I'd love to spend half a year up in the Eastern Sierras just photographing the place. One of these days maybe.

Thanks Liban. One of those shots that if you're there, you'll get it. Notice the two rain clouds in the background ...

You really done a nice job with the processing as you fixed the blown sky. There is nothing more unappealing to me than blown areas in a picture. It does seem flat but I guess the clouds made it that way. If there is anyway to put some color in it you should try. The composition is very nice.
