    Riding in Florida #3
I was riding along when I took this one. Pretty smooth trail-not to mention straight.

The strongest of the three, in my opinion. The composition is interesting, with the rider on the far right. The little sign with '800' on it holds the eye from drifting out the left - I think it is a critical element and 'makes' the picture. It's amazing how sometimes it's the small and insignificant element that raises a picture from good to great.

The converging trees, road, and verge makes it too - leading to a very distinct point. I think it's a great picture, all the more as you were on the move at the time!

    Cheers

That is actually a mile marker left over from when the trail was a railroad. 800 miles to the home office in Richmond VA.

BTW I posted this one because of the really strong diagonal graphic elements of the trees and trail.

I agree with Mikes assessment. This is the stronger of the three. I think it's a case of simplicity being powerful. the perspectives are good as well as the vanishing point being above and off center. Good sky, color and balance here.
Good one, especially for holding while riding.

    Awesome.

Any way to get more contrast in the sky only?...Clowdy blue sky would take this over the top.

You have way too much practice at shooting on a bike (I say green with envy.)

Miss M has that pose down pretty good too. :cryin: :D :blush2:

I'll go against the grain and say that it's OK but not great. It is simple and I guess in a good way, but to me it lacks a strong subject (the rider is it, but there's nothing special about him/her here, and the dark areas/strong contrast eliminates a lot of detail. The "800" adds to the scene.

Nice shot MB. I agree with Mike and Gary. Compositionly strong and exposed very well. Not bad for a moving shot.

I think it would be more powerful if you could have shot it closer to the ground.

Actually, looks better on my home monitor. My laptop isn't as bright even at full setting..
