Restaurant Bar
Taken with my 350D in 720nm+ IR, converted to B&W. Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Restaurant Bar
I like it but I think I would clone the line. Other than that fine shot.

Re: Restaurant Bar
Heres the shot w/o the line. I didnt even think to clone that out. thanks!

Re: Restaurant Bar
Interesting subject. I also like it better w/o the line.

Re: Restaurant Bar
I'd love to sit on the front porch of this establishment and "chew the fat" with some of the locals. I like this shot a lot. The removal of the line does help.

Re: Restaurant Bar
Its a local biker bar, but the outside is quite deceiving. It is painted purple and is covered in glitter.. I've been wanting to go in to try some of their signature burgers but never get a chance to go over .
-
Re: Restaurant Bar
purple and glitter covered?? Its probably for the best ;)
Nah, go head and try it when you find time..
But good picture, everyone else and their mother's already beat me to it, but it IS better without the line.
And whatsup with the roof?? It looks pretty beat up... like black asbesto's .. ?

Re: Restaurant Bar
No idea whats up with the roof.. its a pretty old restaurant. back from before I moved in 11 years ago.. They advertise some interesting burgers on the signs outside. Ill get a picture of it in color next time I pass it.

Re: Restaurant Bar
The B&W in this image is mostly grey. I'd like to see the contrast boosted to get some pure whites and pure blacks.

Re: Restaurant Bar
I biker bar purple and glitter??? I shudder to think....I like this shot! Color shot would be great to (this I gotta see)

Re: Restaurant Bar
I think it is an interesting photo but, to me, it doesn't work. MB1 hit it on the head - too flat and the flags look like they have been out in the sun since we won our independence. I think it would be real nice in color and would like to see it when you post it.
-
Re: Restaurant Bar
SS - Reading the other comments, it might be a situation where color adds needed dimensionality. It does seem flat as is. If the sign had color I think it would pop out towards the viewer better. Can you post the color version? GB

Re: Restaurant Bar
Seems flat....I'd boost the contrast.
also straighten it a little.
Nice image.

Re: Restaurant Bar
I dont have a color version yet, this was taken in IR. The most color this image will have is a dark shade of red. Ill snap a shot in color tomorrow when I drive by.
Here it is again with the contrast boosted. I like it much better with a contrast boost added.
Also, I believe this sign is better painted than the IR captured. I believe they repainted it recently, I'm not sure if the IR is going through the new layer of paint and seeing the old or what.. I'll see tomorrow I suppose.
Thanks for all of the input from everybody!

Re: Restaurant Bar
Higher contrast looks better.
I'm going to disagree with everyone and say that I like it better with the wire. The wire is part of the scene and should stay in.
At the very least, you need to clean up the clone-work between the sign and the roof overhang.

Re: Restaurant Bar
I like the last one best. The higher contrast and removed wire works. I like the weathered old man. I notice him more without the wire.

Re: Restaurant Bar
I like the shot...wonder what it would look like in color

Re: Restaurant Bar
Heres the color shot. You can see the sparkles on the right side shutters in this shot. Below what I shot is a road guard rail which they painted in purple and sparkles as well.. I was driving by doing 35 so I couldn't take the time to focus and compose so its kinda just a snap shot..
