Love the colors. The stillness of the water is very peaceful. Nice capture.

Amazing colors. Fantastic shot. Do you frequent this area or just get lucky??

Thanks for the kind words. I live about 6 hours away. I am familiar with where to go in the Tetons, and I decided on Schwabacher because I had never been to this particular area. I was trying to get something nice and scout out the area for the future.

It is quite nice (avtrally very nice) but I believe it could be better.

A bit of fill flash on the plants on the foreground. Crop out about half of the sky to move the mountains closer to the top of the frame.

BTW this is the kind of place where a landscape pro keeps going back to until there is an image with this light that also has a moon or a "V" of geese or perhaps some ice on the water. Then you have a once in a lifetime, killer shot.

Yep this is a location I hope to visit at least once a year. I am still waiting for the killer sky, clouds are hard to come by around here. Unfortunately a lot of others want to visit the same spot.

    Wow.

Nice catch but your first pic looks better without knowing the reality of the second.

great shot....I really love the lighting here...I might clone the water to get the plants out of there and then crop the water so that the mountains and their reflection are in the middle of the frame....really really nice shot

    Beautiful light and reflections...
I was at the Tetons a year ago and got some similar morning light. With serious thunderstorms going through the area there were clouds around, but like you, not over the mountains at sunrise (also no birds or moon)! Another good and less crowded place to catch the sunrise on the Tetons is on the hill at Jackson Lake Lodge.
