    Redwood

This is shot I enjoy from my hike. The light was probably as poor as it gets with a foggy morning in the upper story of the trees.

For anybody that likes trees, the redwoods are cool. The oddities are amazing. I've only begun to take photos there.

was this in Sequoia national park? b/c that tree looks really familiar! haha. it is a good shot, but i would crop off the sides a bit, maybe next time take it in portrait format. also, yes, the lighting could be better, did you use a fill flash at all? i like the wa you have the person set up in the picture. really gives some context to how huge these things are!

Maybe not a great photo (as you and echoback both noted there are exposure and lighting issues) but a nice image.

It's a redwood in Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park. It's about 15 miles over the Oregon, California border, in California. About 30 minutes from Brookings, Oregon.

This tree was on a trail called Boy Scout Trail or Fern Falls Trail.

It's not a sequioa, but is a coastal redwood.

I think that park is in Del Norte county. The next county south should be Humboldt. Last summer, the new tallest redwood was discovered there, measured at 379.1 feet tall. Called Hyperion. And about 9 feet taller than the previous tallest tree Stratosphere Giant.
