Seems like an interesting subject, but I don't really see enough contrast. I would also rather a silhouette have a little definition rather than solid black.

I would have preferred if the person was a lot more to the left of the frame. Also the top rail is blocking some docks which should have been included in full in the composition. Looks good otherwise.

If you had a little higher angle and had the full person in there, would've been a superb shot.

    Good try,

I have to agree with all three comments. But what a beautiful sky you've captured. And the tone is just beautiful.

    juzzus,
Am I ever envious of those skies!! Beautifully captured. I really like all tones as is. just perfect IMHO. I really like this shot but a few things bother me a bit. Either your cousin has a big ol' butt or he or she is wearing a bag. Right? Please don't make it be the first option (I couldn't handle the embarrasment). I also would've liked to see the horizon. right now the pole is separating the water from the skies. I almost wanna move it but I can't.

Hello guys , thanks for taking the time to share your thots ... greatly appreciated !
This was a impromptu shot as i was squatting down mounting the lens onto my camera body as i looked up this scene just appear before me and i just 'click' it away ... hahaha
The slide does shows some details in the shadow area ( camera bag n not butt ) but some how the scanning didn't do justice to it .....

Juzzus, first of all, that sky is striking. That being said, I do not quite agree with all the comments expressed here. I like the silhouette being solid black. I find the effect to be neat and somehow it helps to make that person an "abstract" element that doesn't command to much attention (which help to focus on the sky and the docks). Also, I would most likely keep the person at the right. The picture could possibly be unbalanced otherwise, kinda like it was falling on its left side.

However, the person probably hold a bag of some sort, hence the shape at his/her right which isn't very flatering. Also, I fully agree that an higher point of view is needed to separate the docks from the ramp.

    regards

    Seb
