I think I would crop out the left side where it turns to a darker blue.......

Thanks Chow & Chunk (hehe, your names are fun together!) for your thoughts on this!!

Chow...I noticed that about your post...how very bizarre...lol. And also, about the blue, you may be right on a crop with that.

What a marvelous optical illusion you've captured! And to think, all this was waiting for you at the bottom of your sink. Fabulous work Emily, keep going!

Emily, I think that this is a well crafted picture. It certainly took you significant trial and error to fine tune the effect you were going after.

I would agree with Chow that the darker blue area at the extreme left should be cropped. It kinda breaks the perfection of the image.

    regards

Thanks Seb...I appreciate the feedback. And yup...the blue part, the more I look at it, does affect the rest of the photo.

    Emily,

This is great! I would suggest a square crop on this (and the rule of thirds be damned) with the concentric circles spreading out to the edges of the frame. The only other suggestion I would have is to staighten it so the water and the reflection are lined up vertically. They currently list a bit to the right. Great idea and shot!

Thanks Marty! I like your idea of a square crop. I may do that and see how I like it.

Here it is with a more square crop...not sure if this is how you were visualizing it, Marty:

that's crazy looking, looks like a desktop background to me. I like the first crop though, the second is a bit grainy.

Lol...thanks for your comments on this, Mr. Yuck.

And yeah, I'm lean more towards the original myself...the square one brings it to a little too close up.
