Re: Rainforest Creek
That's a beautiful scene! Where was it taken?
Just a few suggestions...first, it seems the shutter was left open just a tad too long. You can tell by the overexposed highlights in the water. Although, I have to say you did better than I've ever done trying to do the same thing.
Second, I would crop out the boulder on the bottom left. It's a bit distracting.
Other than that, great shot!

Re: Rainforest Creek
Thanks for you thoughts. I have thought the same thing with the cropping of the bolder. I think I have lightened it too much I thought as well. It was a very dark area and I didn't think it would be anything that good. It was at the St. Columbia Falls Tasmania.
Do you think cropping it here would be ok?

Re: Rainforest Creek
I've played around with another shot and I think this one is better. What do you think?

Very nice. The crop works well. Beautiful scene. Also an excellent candidate for an Orton effect.

Re: Rainforest Creek
The crop is better. Looks slightly grainy-----did you use a higher ISO than normal? I don't think it detracts a whole lot from the scene, I was just wondering. Great colors, too.

Re: Rainforest Creek
The ISO I used was set to auto. The area was a really dark place where the photo was taken. At the bottom of a huge waterfall amongst the rain forest. Would the grainy effect be caused from low pixels due to adding to this forum?
