Rachel studio no 1 (Warning - nudity)

Finally getting back into doing photos in the studio and photos that I can publish. I have lots of photos of friends done in my studio but they don't want to be on Internet. Hence the necessity to use a professional.

I did these a couple of weeks ago. Even though Rachel is just a model so I don't have to please her (unlike friends) - do you think she will like these ?

They look pretty good, but a NUDITY warning in the subject line would be good for those who check the boards at work!

here's my two cents, your very good, and the model is very stunning,i have a partial for red heads, as this is on the critique forum here's my two cents, the first shot i find the lighting in the background distracting showing a ball of light instead of blending in fully, the second to me is very perfect with shadowing around her face, and the way you have the wall she is leaning on in a vertical position leading your eyes up,great job there, the third one just doesn't work for me,too artificially posey i guess, the last one you have her perfect except for that distracting backlighting that shows a curve in shawdows and takes my eyes off the subject. but lighting on herself looks well done in my tastes, you can't please everyone, and we all have our views right.you have a talent, thanks for sharing.

Thanks. I hadn't noticed any of the points you mentioned (I think I was dazzled by the model).

Re: Rachel studio no 1 (Warning - nudity)

They are interesting alright. I think the lighting and background seems halfway between glamour and mystery. I think I would have preferred it more one way, or the other. Redheads seem good in mysterious poses and shots so I think I would have gone that way.

As far as separate critiques, the first one is fun but the strong white circular light behind her is distracting (seems like she's next to an exploding sun The second shot of her next to that divider is a bit chopped off for me, and her face is in too much shadow. The 3rd shot is OK, but her eyes are not sharp like they need to be. I like the last one the best - flattering pose, interesting curve, nice color hair. The only thing is the way the light drops off on the left side like that ... Makes me wonder what's up?

I have also shot friends who would in general prefer not to be seen on the internet. It takes a lot of convincing, and also poses that are more in shadow, etc., to get them to agree

She actually looks more comfortable sans clothing. It might be the poses you suggested but her face and body language seem much more natural in the nudes hence those images look better.
    No, I DON'T need that.

This was my first outing at the Association so I chose a beginners class. There was the teacher (who did all the lights), four shy guys and one loudmouth - well that was me actually.

The model arrived late - she bounced in like she owned the place, beamed at everybody - the others froze, I was the only one who leapt to his feet and shook her hand. As soon as she was in front of the camera - she did it all herself, never had anyone so easy to photograph, I just enthused a bit to keep her going - not too much, every time I talked English to her she started giggling.

    It was great.
