Quiet harbor. I need your opinon

Please tell me what do you think about this picture. Do I need something in the front? What would you change here? Can Adobe Photoshop make it better? Thank you.
Re: Quiet harbor. I need your opinon
Maybe you could crop it just a smidge to get the boats that are cut off in the picture, out of the picture, and maybe crop the bottom so you don't have as much water. O/w I think it's a nice shot.
Re: Quiet harbor. I need your opinon
I quite like the idea of putting the ships at the centre and dividing the photo into two half. Nice shot. The questions for me, however, are: 1. how I can make it symmetrical, and 2. how to strengthen the reflection of the sea. Alternatively if the conditions allowed, I will do long exposure.
Cheers,
Alex

Beautiful shot! I'd do the same, crop the boats out that are already on the edge of the photo. Then I'd crop the bottom of the photo so the horizon is near the bottom third of the image. Still though, its a nice shot.
Re: Quiet harbor. I need your opinon
Nice shot, though a tad cliche. Personally, I'd crop it and get rid of a large portion of the foreground, even up to the floaty string thing. Leave the sky wide open, and it might look half decent.
Black and white might add a nice twist too,
Welcome to the boards,

Good shot, I would cut out the bottem 20% and 10% on top. Then youwill have a very nice landscape photo. Great colors!
Re: Quiet harbor. I need your opinon
Wow. as beautiful as... well.. a beautiful painting! I really like it. I love the bands of colours up top. The poles add a great touch to this, the dark lines going up and down the entire photo is one of the things that really draws me to this. The position of the boats and the reflections are also nice. As far as what I'd do to make it better, I'd crop out a bit of the bottom and that's it. nicely done.
Re: Quiet harbor. I need your opinon
This is a great shot, I like how you captured it. I havr to agree with Leels on this one, the poles add so much to this shot and would crop off the bottom a little bit but keep the reflection of the poles. I bet on a clear sunset/sunrise would make for a great shot also. Thanks for sharing.

Very nice n clean shot ... at one glance it seems that the yachts are floating on the air . Just like the rest here , a little cropping will gives the photo a stronger composition . Nice !
Re: Quiet harbor. I need your opinon
I agree with Leeis and plchung mostly. I think this is one of those shots where having the horizon splitting the frame evenly is not a bad thing. I like having the full reflections. I think one of the strengths of this shot is how the waves in the water echo what is going on in the skies on a different scale of size and time. The crop I'd suggest is just enough off the top to put the horizon right at the halfway mark.
I don't mind the cutoff boats on the edges as they let the mind expand the scene beyond the frame.
All this technical stuff aside, your shot captures a beautiful quiet feel - it must have been great to be there as it is great to just feel it in the photo. I hope you have more shots like this to show us.
Re: Quiet harbor. I need your opinon
I think this is a wonderful shot!! Very beautiful and serene. Totally worthy of wall space IMHO!
Re: Quiet harbor. I need your opinon
Thank you for your comments. It was very helpful.
Re: Quiet harbor. I need your opinon
I'm not sure I agree with everyone on the cropping.
The problems is there are two horizons, sort of.
The real one, just above the boat hulls - that's lost in the distance.
You have a much clearer horizontal reference in that line of floats, just in front of the boats.
I would say crop to put that at 1/3 up and not the real horizon.
How about crom from the left, take out the boat with the all mast - leave the other one and the reflections, at about 1/3 also?
I think that leaves a nice line from left to right of ascending mast heights.
