    Question on two prints
I would appreciate comments on both of these prints. Specifically: 1. On the black and white - I left the bright spot in the upper left corner in the image. I did remove it but realized it brought depth and balance to the image. I am curious as to other’s thoughts. 2. On the fence post - is the second post blurred enough or is it distracting because it comes out of the front post. As always any other comments welcome.

    Regards

    Hi Phil,

Image #1: this is nice! Keep the white spot! You are right: it does give a sense of balance.

Image #2: the sencond post needs to go. Have you tried darkening it? In overall, I find the BG not blurry enough. Unfortunately, there is not much you can do about it... Or maybe PS can do it, but then I do not know how!

But then, this is just my opinion!

    Cheers,

    Steph.

Another thought: both pics are not tack sharp on my screen... It could be due to the limited resolution/compression.... Or maybe my eyesight is finally giving up on me!

i think the first one looks really nice. The second one needs that other post to go, the picture looks old and country like until that other post comes into play (the one behind the main old wood post).

Besides that i think they are both nice concepts

Both of these are very good. I like the composition of both. The white blurred area should stay but perhaps darken it some with ps to make it just less distracting. The shot with the post, the bg post should be cloned out. . just the top. The rest of the bg is blurred nicely in my opinion. . and the colors in this image are beautiful. I also feel that it seems just a bit flat and upping the levels slightly would help bring a bit of vibrancy

Thanks everyone for your replies. As we all agree the fence post picture needed a little rework so I did re-shoot it.

Steph, I did recheck both images for sharpness and the fence post was a little soft. Thanks for the heads up.

    Rachel,
The first image is an old car I stumbled upon while walking through the woods. It is part of the steering wheel. The image said something to me about the beauty in ageing.

Thanks everyone for your kind words your input is helpful.

    Regards

    Phil
