Tis is another from my Thanksgiving weekend trip to Vegas.
We were out on "The Strip" and I saw this one.
I was just trying to capture the lights in little diffferent way.
What do you think of this photograph?
    Thanks!

I'm really enjoying your holga postings over on mtbr. The color & lighting on this one is great! For me, I find myself wanting to see the 'whole sign' rather than cropping the 'q". just my .02... good stuff!

Hi Brian, how are you doing? Typical Holga...flare, spots, softness, all of which add character to the shot. I kind of agree that I'd like to see all of the sign, and I'm thinking that the bright spot(street light?) kind of overpowers the rest of the elements in the frame. Fun stuff.

Great subject and especially for the Holga. But like the two bike photos I commented on, I think it's too centered. You might just see things differently from me, but I'd encourage you to work on following the Rule-of-Thirds.

    Hello Brian,

I like your picture for the most part. In fact, the colors, the relative softness and the perspective effect all comes together to create something very appealing. My only concern is that the bright spot in the upper right corner is too much as Charles stated. I like the natural square format of the Holga but this particular photograph kinda works better (to me) if I crop the upper part of the frame to get rid of the stronger part of the flare.

    Just a personal preference...

I think the Holga question is often: Would it be better without the Holga? Here I wonder if it would be better without the two light leaks in the corners (are they light leaks?) and I have to say t would be a "better" picture without them, but far less interesting.

Brian, I tend to find all the flare of the lights and holga effect interesting and adding to the shot. But I agree with PJ about the image being a bit too centered. I think maybe placing the Q higher up in the corner and tilting the camera some so that the N comes down below centerl frame , for me, might be more compositionally dynamic. But, I still find this to be an interesting image.

Excellent work. Delibrately shooting for flares etc. I could only get this by mistake !!
