    Hi Hifijohn,

Can I ask what it is that you are trying to capture with this shot? Is it the contrast between the green grass and purple petals/leaves? If so, what would closer, more 'macro' framing give to this image? I wonder also, what you metered/focused on to get this lighting as it seems a little flat? Sorry, I don't want to appear negative, but I sense some potential in your image if you get the lighting (something I am still struggling to learn) and the framing right. What is it that drew you to capture this image? I would be interested to talk more about this image.

You've caught an interesting moment with these petals spread across the grass.

I think what you need to do next time around is focus on an area about 25% as large (I would use the lower left quadrant in this particular case), and really work the exposure to bring out more color saturation. This shot has to be about the color because of how its framed, so maybe try next time at sunrise or sunset. The blue light from the bright sun is washing everything out here I suspect.
