I think I would get rid of the lines and poles. I think then you would have an awesome shot.

I'm sure the utility companies employ staff artists so as to make sure they get the best scenes to drape their damn power lines through.
Might be a bit of work but have to agree with Greg

BTW is the tower bell away for repair

The bell's in the first level above the roof.

The lines might come out of there fairly well, but those poles would be a bear! I can't tell if that's an archway behind the transformer, or actually part of the transformer itself. And one of the poles partly covers some stuff on the building, lower left. What's behind it? Can we rebuild that?

    Thanks Greg, Pete and Wfooshee,

    good eye seeing the bell

Cloning around the transformer is going to take time .... probably a few stages, I'm guessing there will be so many circles in LR that I have to export to a Tiff and continue with a fresh file

    Re: and Progress came ...

If you cloned out the wires then you'd have to change the tittle.
Yes, they do uglify the scene but that's what is there.
I have mixed feelings about cloning ugly stuff out of scenes.,,sometimes I do and other times I don't.
Cannot tell by the horizon or other buildings but I think the tower has a slight lean to left.
Whether that is because it does lean to left from years of settling or you were slightly off on level, I don't know. If its real, keep it that way. If its not level camera, I'd straighten it.

edit....looking again, I see the power pole is leaning too so I think it does need to be straightened.

Something doesn't look right about the tower. The angle where you took this shot would not have allowed a strait vertical tower. I think you straitened it too much. In some compositions we should level the horizontal lines and not the verticals. I think it'd look better If you level the tower's horizontal lines.

Love the pastel tones to this. The sky is awesome. So soft and fluffy I could feel the clouds. That one wire that crosses the sky is a problem. I don't have a problem with the other one.

Weren't the power lines the reason for the shot ?

Power lines don't bother me at all, actually I kinda like them. If I'm bothered by them I would miss on many well worthy photo ops.

    Re: and Progress came ...

Yeah the power lines are a drag, but it would be pretty dark without them Maybe one day they'll bury them? Happens around here every now and then.

I like the subject but feel that there might be too many places just like it, in Mexico, the American west, and in Europe. Maybe with something else happening - nice sunset, flock of birds, etc?

Anyway, nice work removing them (though you left the bottom part of the pole in the bottom left - on purpose?). How long did it take you to do it?

    Re: and Progress came ...

I do not like power lines the title was intended to be sarcastic ;)

Greg, I like the light and the clouds , shot another couple of images same view but the feel wasn't there.
It took me a while, left the bottom of the pole because it would mean deleting the signs , I Don't know how to reconstruct them

I think I will have this printed fairly big, while deleting the cables, working some times at 300% got to appreciate the amount of detail in the file.

The last image seems to have quite a magenta hue to it, is this intentional ?
Much prefer the shot without the power lines.

One last thing I think you need to get rid of is the antenna on top of the tower. Looking good, Jeff

    Re: and Progress came ...

    Hi Armando,...

I am going to comment based on the original theme of the photo, which is progress came with electrical power supply showing the electrical line and pole.

If you are going with this theme, I guess the way you captured the photo showing more of a landscape like composition defeats the purpose, it became neither here nor there.
For a landscape photo, the pole is distracting.
For a photo focusing on supply of electrical power, there is not enough focus on the pole or the electrical lines.
The roofs at the bottom of the picture is distracting and carries the focus away.

My suggestion, (no idea if it works better).
Do you have any more room to move closer to the tower? I thought maybe you can shoot the tower more from a more lower up angle, while capturing part of the pole and lines connecting to the tower.
I thought from lower up angle would be stronger in emphasizing the electrical pole and lines.
I understand the pole is abit further away from the tower, but from lower up you could maybe capture just the pole, cable, one of the house's roof (instead of many house's roof).
Thought the composition is stronger if shot this way, abit more inline with the theme.

I agree - the power lines are the truth. Leave them in.
