This isn't the "greatest" product shot ever done admittedly. The intent here is to make an image that for test purposes is repeatable by more people. Not everyone wants to track down color charts and a particular brand of crayons and the like.
I hope you use Ketchup and have gotten mail sometime in recent memory. If so, this is one of a couple of images you can produce your own version for comparison. I've got a few postage stamp versions also available.
The lighting is actually Natural (the Sun). In this case indirect via a non UV filtered skylight and all kinds of matte reflective sufaces. It was bright enough to still get some pretty bright reflection.
The primary white foamcore is consumer grade art project stuff. This foamcore is part of two cases (two gross of sheets actually) purchased at either Sam's or WalMart last fall. Makes great boxes and the like. I'm including a full size crop of the label from the back of one of the sheets (its blue) whose reverse white side was used as the backdrop to these images.
Again, new digital camera, which will be revealed later, see earlier posts including,
First Post - Two from New Camera I
for details.
The small crops are not resized, but quality on the Label has been reduced slightly.
Let me know what you think and the next couple of photos I'm posting will be easier on the eyes!
