    A predator

Can anyone tell me what this Anhinga is eating? Can't quite figure it out. Might be a frog, or some other amphibian ...

It was lower in the bird's throat earlier, but is actually climbing out (it appears, anyway) as I have a couple series shots where the prey is almost gone down the throat, but then got 'bigger' ... like it's fighting the swallow ... One of the weirdest series of shots I've ever taken ....

This shot was about 150ft+ across a pond in Flamingo Florida (Everglades), and couldn't get closer. Watched about fifteen minutes and still no 'swallow' ... a real standoff

Shot with Canon 30D and Canon 100/400 IS lens at 400mm ... f11 and 1000 at 400 ISO

Any ideas about the prey, or comments ... thanks BD

Opps, ?? How do I put a photo in this thread?? Thought I did it, but no photo. Very tech stupid on webs, so anyone can advise about attaching photo here, and size and resolution so I can get it right?? Thanks

Are you using photoshop? There are all kinds of free resizing websites if not Just Google it. 800 wide and 72 res works. You can also upload it to Flickr and copy and paste the image code right in the post.

Yes, photoshop, and sizing is okay, I think ... I try to attach the photo by browsing my PC when it asks, but then it says ,,, photo failed to upload. 800 w and 72 res ...

SO, am I asking it the wrong way - I went to the attach link below the post window, and did what it says - but nothing uploads.

Can anyone give me a step x step just to make sure I'm doing it. I'm pretty tech-stupid when technology doesn't work, I have no idea why not. thx

After you find the file you want to open, click on the button that says Upload. It takes a few seconds, depending on your connection speed. Wait until the title of the file shows in the uploaded files in the lower part of the window. You can then close the window. In your message, place the cursor where you want the image to show. Click on the little paper clip in the message menu and you will see a list of the photos you have just uploaded. Click on the one you want first and the code for it will appear where your cursor was. If you have more than one photo to attach, go back and do it again with the next one.

Thanks - can't figure it out, how to add to this thread, so will try a new one with this subject. This seems like a great forum, and am looking forward to chatting and sharing with some of you ... M44
