    COMMENTS: B&W or Color

    uumm i have nothing to say i just want to know which one looks better thats all its my first test on the bw in ps

    I think that

    When you convert to BW from color you want to be really careful to not "blow out" the details in highlighted areas. I took the liberty and converted it working on keeping the details of the bark intact...Hope you don't mind and I hope (crossing my fingers) you can see what I mean....

    It's a very interesting shot but I think I'd like to see you try it from a different vantage point--maybe lower to emphasize how grand this tree probably is

    How do u prevent 'blow out' of highlights in PS?

    I think Kunal was talking to Natalie. I'd be interested in hearing her process, too. My conversions to B&W always seem be far too mid-heavy or not enough detail.
