The third one is focused in front of the model. Look at the railing to see where it actually focused.

I don't think that one works well, anyway; the railing dominates the picture. Also, I'm trying to decide if I like the fact that she's not dressed for the setting, and I don't think I do.

I like the playful look in the first but the uneven light on her face is distracting and also the somewhat blown out flower in her hair. I would crop it down to just her face and some hair but that's me.

The second is attractive but her face and eyes aren't sharp. I'd crop off some of the left.

I agree with wfooshee on the third.

    1) She is pretty.

    2) The first image doesn't show that she is pretty.

    3) She looks great in the second image and I like the composition but it isn't quite as sharp overall as it might be (camera movement?).

    4) The third image (other than the focus point being off) she is dressed wrong for the conditions. Fix the focus and reshoot in the summer and you will have a winner here.

Overall the second image is the one for me.
    No, I DON'T need that.

Looking at them again, they ALL look like they're focused just a little bit on front of where they should be. Compare the sweater sleeve to the face in the second one, and the Velcro on the sleeve to the headband in the first one (although that one's not as far off.) Camera/lens issue?

    Re: Portaits

I think it might be the start of a lens problem. But the original thought was to do a black and white shoot with the snow and a black dress. There are a few more from this shoot if anyone would want to take a look at them. I can post them if anyone is interested.

I really like the first one. The contrast in her eyes really makes them stand out imo.
