I like the colors too. The reason why it works for us is the fact that it goes from yellow (left) to orange (middle) to red (right). These are hues that are close to each other on the color wheel. And guess what's on the opposite side of the color wheel? Yes, the complementary color blue, in this photo the sky and that's what's also very effective when you talk about colors.

I like that the store fronts are all smooth from one building to the next. It helps my eyes focus as I look across the picture. I'm not sure if this is "photographically correct" composition-wise, but I like it

    Re: Shop front

Steve - welcome to the forums. the colors are pleasing and exciting too. They sort of seem like a sunset. As far as the subject, it's pretty pedestrian. I do like the Lee Myles garage, but the light pole on the left and the normal look of the street, back building and trees don't do the colors justice. Maybe if you could zoom in next time and eliminate some of these other items it would be a stronger photo.

    Hope to see more -

Thanks GB1. The shot would be better in a little farther but the truck with the race car on it is a must have since thats our teams race car and we were headed to a large end of the year race.(Lee Myles is our title sponsor) I really wanted to move cars around but there just wasnt enough time. The shot was also taken from the middle of the street in downtown oakland.
