    Hi all,

Been messing around with some different portrait ideas as of late. Seeking feedback and wondering if you'd be so kind.

(The model in this first one recently aquired some WWII gear, so I thought I'd play on that general theme.)

    Thanks in advance.

    Yes, that's Ben.

I liked the original he posted on RBR better, and after having seen it, this one is too processed for me. I thought the first was spot-on, despite the bricks in the background vice a vintage plane. The faux-crack running across Ben's throat on down through the mae west preserver catches my eye too much, IMO.

Thanks for the comments. Yep, tis the illustrious Ben.

When you say you liked the "original" one better, do you mean the original version of this capture or another photo altogether? (I'm not in on which photos he posted where.)

No planes around on this particular day, I'm afraid, and time constraints precluded gettin' to one. Maybe next time.

I like the overall effect, but also not crazy about the manufactured water stains.

He's taken down the one he posted at RBR a few days ago, so I can't dredge it up. It was this picture, and he mentioned you had done some post-processing, but it wasn't the version you've posted here.

It's a great pose and I dig the props (being a vintage aircraft fan myself). This version, simply, it too overdone for me.

    Gotcha.

Well, here's the original. Followed by what is kind of a compromise between the two. (I like certain elements of the later version, though I can see what you mean about it being overdone.)

Thanks. The water stains I can (thankfully) adjust or discard.
