    Pictured Rocks - mono interpretation

    I would like to know your opinion and any improvement ideas ...

    I think I see at least three "faces" in the bottom rocks. You could probably improve the photo by trimming the top where the rock shelf gets lighter.

    I agree. Trim the top to put more emphasis on the rocks.

    In the middle, I see a figure covering his mouth.

    Intriguing rocks !!

    the light seems very even , any chance of a reshoot closer to sunrise/sunset ?

    Maybe pull the whites a bit closer to the right edge of the histogram

    I think the scene is too small or too big.
    There is no point of reference to tell me where I am other than a cliff by some water.
    A close up of some aspect of the rocks might work but otherwise I want something to tell me where I am.

    All good points. Thanks for letting me know your opinion. The only way to approach these is by boat - and there is a sunset tour ...maybe next time. As far as the composition goes, I think having a point of reference is a great idea.
