Pecan sunrise

This is my first attempt at anything remotely landscape, so any comments would be greatly appreciated. I don't scar easy either, so let me have it, I'll just become more determined, and try harder to get it right :D

I'd crop off the bottom "flat" area. I think this would work better, and be alot more simplistic, interesting photo. The silhouette's always look good, though it's hard to do a sunrise/sunset without it being cliche.

This shot has some very interesting aspects. To me, anyway. I like the wintertime (fall to be precise) blue color of the sky, and also the graduation to blue. I also like the black of the bottom.

Trying what Jared said, I did a little cropping to see if maybe a little 'less' of the foreground and background would improve it overall... (one of those 'less is more' things). This is a non-scientific process... what do you think?

Not a bad attempt. You have a pleasing image here. The suggestions already given are good ones. The pano crop is interesting but I miss the bluer part of the sky above. You might have also tried zooming in on the sun and one tree in a vertical for an interesting take on it. Keep at it.

Love the silhouette and the sun burst created from this pic , however i have to agree with the rest sometimes we have to decide what's best not to include into the pic rather than the opposite way ... apart from the interesting pano crop i think a portrait format will look good too as you can retain the cool blue sky with a right amount of silhouette/shadow .
