Passion of the Christ Flower
That's just the name of the flower. The bloom lasts for only a few hours.
Re: Passion of the Christ Flower
This is the flower of the Passion Fruit which is named after the flower.... Everytime you drink one of the passion / mango drinks or a Hawaiian type fruit juice mix you now can picture this flower in your mind.... They grow like weeds at home it is on a vine, not a free standing plant.
Nice work,

Nice shot Don. Your DOF could have been a little deeper but still a very interesting flower. Thanks for sharing.

Great shot. I didn't realize this flower just blooms for a few hours. Any more info on the flower? Or why it is named Passion of the Christ Flower?
Thanks for posting the picture. It's very interesting.

Goodness. What a wild-looking flower. I'd darken the black around it and make it all about the flower.
Re: Passion of the Christ Flower
Love the colors, Don.

Looks like an explosion, or perhaps a wake of a big rock thrown in the water :)

Thanks guys. This is definitely more than a flower.
Re: Passion of the Christ Flower
this is a great macro! i like this one a lot. next time one is in bloom, try shooting it with a snoot around your flash, that will give you the bright focus of the flower and blacken out the background. those colors are intense, and right up my alley. good shot don.
