I really like the composition on this simple, yet very effective photo. I like where you have placed the center on the palm, it really draws me into the photo. I like the latest “series” you are doing with foliage…the tonal range is phenomenal.
The tones are great and after reading you last comment on your “alien” photo I can see that post processing is huge in achieving that wow factor.

I’m going thru some major growing pains on learning proper darkroom technique and getting my photos to a finalized print. My frustration is growing because I know that the information is in the negative I just can’t get it out onto the print…but your comment gave my hope and insight that I just need to keep trying – eventually it will pay off.
I can also see why many have switched to digital…this darkroom processing is Expensive! :( but fun as hell :D

    Cheers

Looks pretty good i seem some blurry spots along the edges. Also if the whites could be brighter it could help. Mabye burn around the edges to draw you into the center.

I have been staring at this for more than two minutes! It is really entrancing, I have photographed lots of palms and the results have been nowhere near as effective as this. The branches look as though they could have been sprayed with a silver coating and polished! Great work.

One comment is that there is an object in the background towards the bottom right of the image that is a little distracting...

Thanks for sharing! I am going to get on and look at my palm shots now!!
