    This one, no this one

Kinda of a first for me I never shoot people but this little guy in the Tulip fields in the Skagit Valley in WA was just to cute to pass up.
Wondering about the crop here if I should leave the red in or crop so just yellow tulips.
Also thinking maybe shooting this at a lower angle more at the childs level would have worked better.

Any and all thoughts, Feedback and suggestions appreciated.
    Thanks for looking

Is this a tighter version than you posted on viewfinder?

I'd crop out the red, personally, but try not to lose the single red tulip a few rows behind the boy. There's a neat little parallel between the single red tulip and the single red shirted boy amid the yellow

i really like this.... i would keep the red at top... it ads to the all the yellow and ties in with his shirt.. i didn't even notice the single red tulip until i read the above post.....

Good lord, Ray. This is amazing. I like the red.

Would you mind sharing the technical details?

Only problem I have is the flesh tones seem off.
Still its one of, if not the best skagit tulip festival shots I've seen.

Re: This one, no this one

Thank you everyone for the comments and suggestions I tried reworking the image to your suggestions 1 rework concentrates on the skin tones still a little off and blown out and the 2nd one is both skin tones and a tighter crop omitting the red tulips.

    Thanks again for the input

I much prefer the version with the red strip. It seals off the top of the image very nicely and complements the red of the boy. Without the strip the image seems just a little insipid - but with it, it has real sparkle.

Keep the red, heck I'd even like a bit more red.
    No, I DON'T need that.

At first I agreed with the "crop the red at the top" suggestions, but after seeing the original next to the crop, I prefer the original.

I like the original!! The red does kind of seem out of place, but without it it looks strange. As far as skin tones go... I like the original also. What would you expect to see if the boy had a red and yellow light shining on his face?? The reflection from the tulips and his shirt is probably making he skin tones actually look that color to the naked eye. Just my 2¢

Re: This one, no this one

The original in viewfinder has a bit of another yellow field at the top which I prefer as it helps show the expanse of the fields. I think they plant them to clash on purpose.

Re: This one, no this one

It's amazing to me how much the line of red adds to the shot compared to the cropped version. The skin tones in the first looks less off than the reworked image.

    Great shot.
