    Need a little help here...

Does this composition seem okay to you? For some reason, it doesn't really seem right to me...I only had time to get a couple of shots, and this was the best one. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Nice shot. The one thing I find odd/distracting is the large shadow casted on the background of the picture. Other then that I quite enjoy it.

    Nice shooting,

I think this is a lovely shot and well composed, and I think the reason why it seems not quite right is because it's incredibly monotone and you find yourself looking for things camouflaged in the high grass or around the shed or even the shadow, which gives it a lovely feel IMHO. I keep coming back to it searching for something i missed.

    Nice shot

I think your composition works well with this image. It looks like you have either early morning or late afternoon sunlight in the middle of the image, and I would love to see that same light on the building.

I like the tone of this pic. I think it adds a little camoflauge to the composition and it is nice considering the scene.
The only nitpick I have is the shadow on the farm and rest of the background (was there a hill directly behind the farm?)
I would love to see this same shot again flooded in light.
    Nice job,

I really like the composition of this photo and the tones. My eye easily wonders around the photo and is not distracted by anything for to long, which I think is a good thing.
I have to agree with the others, the lighting on this photo seems to be the problem. The light in the front of the building hitting the grass is beautiful...it just would be great if that same light had illuminated the buildering more.
Very nice scene and I think worth a re-shoot if possible.
    Cheers.

Re: Need a little help here...

I think the dramatic lighting makes this shot. If the building were lit by the same light as the grain drill it could quickly be dismissed with a "what a nice rural shot of old sheds and machinery" and we could quickly go on to the next shot. As it is, the spotlit drill and patch of grass grabs the initial attention and then the eye gets tugged over to the shed an we try to figure out a bit more about it and then back to the drill or maybe that smaller shed. The tension in the lighting may give us a more interesting shot than one that is well lit.

When I was viewing a previous post by you I ventured into your website and found some really beautiful photographs there and this was one of them.
I like the lack of lots of other colours here and the monotone is extremely pleasent, and there is a lovely feel to it. I also think the composition is fine.

The composition is fine, and it's a wonderful subject. I agree with the others that what might be giving you that "something's off" feeling is the monotone feel to the scene. Personally, I like it. I think it gives it almost a B/W feel, even though it is color.
