Old Salton Gas Station

Old gas station at the Salton Sea, showing an era when gas was a lot cheaper.

They've since knocked this old station down and replaced it with .. nothing, just a dirt field. Taken on Kodak 120mm film.

I really wish there was more building and less sign in this one ...I think it would tell a better story.

Thanks for the comments, guys. This composition is rather unusual. I guess I sort of like it for that reason. I will look at my old images and see if I have one of the station, but here's another of the pumps.

I like the BW quite a bit ...is this a scanned slide or print? It has some white specs toward the top ...or maybe that is the effect you went for ...either way, the comp ...except maybe for the pole behind the pump ...but, oh well...

It's a scanned positive, 645 camera. For whatever reason I didn't use the dust removal function on this one, maybe because it was adding waves to the scan. I need to figure that out. I bet I can remove that pole :)
