    Aalia Unleased

This image of her looks more elemental for some reason, probably because I laid off the post processing. I also snapped it while she was positioning rather than posed.

    Comments welcome.

I like this one a lot GB, even more than the other. I do think it would be worth retouching the forehead to remove the blemishes, but this is a powerful shot. The Rembrandt lighting suits it perfectly, and Rembrandt rarely works well on women. (For those who might not know what I'm talking about, Rembrandt is one of the 4 classic studio lighting styles, it's a type of broad lighting that produces a very distinct triangle of light below the eye furthest from the light source)

Thanks Jet! I also find the lighting compelling, though I didn't know why.

Just looked up Rembrandt Lighting at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rembrandt_lighting. I'm slightly confused as to what they're saying about the triangle / diamond ?? That setup image seems pretty classical to me.

What might have happened here is, the light was blocked on the (our) left side by her hair. That's the side where the main light was (you can see that on her upper chest). I know we had something on the right side .. not sure if it was a reflector or a low-powered lamp. Arrgg.. I need to learn from these shots. Maybe I should just go and attend sometime (not shot) and observe how things are set up.

I also considered removing those imperfections on her forehead, but decided that leaving them would create more of a beastal look.

Also, I don't know what's up with the angled fence. It makes this shot seem even more freaky.

I like it too, nice light
    good moment, she looks relax

beastal ? hmm ... seems we have a different definition of beast

If it were my image I would work the forehead , a bit, leave some so it looks natural

I like the simplicity of all this but I think it work much better with a very plain background. There seems to be a bit odd brightness on her hair which is a bit distracting. The forehead stuff does not bother me at all.

    Re: Aalia Unleased

Thanks Tom. The lighting on this was sort of a mistake, a purposeful one, actually, as I shot it when she was getting into position for a pose. Hence the lighting struck her in odd ways. It has that 'ad hoc' look to it I suppose. I personally find the tilted fence a bit crazy, and wonder what it would be like in a studio?

Stay tuned - I may copy and paste her into another background, now that we're onto something ...

Personally, I think the tilted fence adds something, playfulness perhaps.
I very much like the eyes being closed too.
    Beautiful model, lovely pose.
I'll nit on the bright spot in her hair.
    Look through a glass eye.
    Give it a few tries.

IMHO...it looks obviously a candid shot...which it is.... for the type of model and look she was prepared for...it doesn't really work for me.
