that tree seems a bit distracting... maybe if you went back to the same spot and tried to get more of the "landscape" feel to it by using a wider-angle and not having anything blocking the front off

I find that there is too much going on here to be able to focus on any one thing. The image is not sharp and the colors are just not quite natural .( This could be worked on in PS) I would suggest getting in alot closer to your subject, so as to isolate it making it easily identifiable. Just keep at it.

I like the idea of using the tree to frame in the right side, but I think it is a little much. I don't know if the angles would work but I think it would interesting to possibly move some place to the right where you could use a telephoto and put in those mountains in the back and tightly frame up the three towers and flag.

I'd like to see what the smoke stacks come out of instead of them seemingly sprouting from the tree, the flag however does make a nice focal point.

I'd say it looks like Bend, OR
I have a very similar shot (but with a rainbow in it!). I'll post it tonight when if I can find it :^).

I mostly agree with what was said here. I think that the scene has potential but I get the instant feeling that this was zoomed in too much. There is no real foreground here which is unsettling. I think that you would need to step back to get a foreground. Moving few steps to the left in order to have the tree at the right less prominent would be good to.
Framing the scene with the trees was definately a good idea.

Sorry about hijacking this thread a little...
but, I shot this from the car returning to town after a day of stormy skiing. I think they are the same stacks. Genuine's composition is much nicer.
    Cheers,
