Old House

Im looking for some critique on these set of images.

Each has positive and negatives but I do notice that I prefer the ones that are evenly lit without some sun and some shade.
One, three, and four appear to need some straightening though not as much on four.

Well hey there, and let me add the welcome to the forums... here goes:

1- The blown out sky is a bit distracting, but the house is nicely lit. The angle is a bit off, since it appears the photo is tilted. Not sure what can be done about either at this point.

2- It's a shame about the shade that falls on the house, it would have been so cool without it, but nothing you can do there... so, in terms of what could have been done, personally I find the tree on the right a bit distracting. Another element might have added to it.. And the sky could use a little less exposure to get the clouds.

3- Sky and tilt are the only issues here for me.

4- same as 3.

5 & 6 - I am not sure here what I am supposed to look at. It's an architectural details, but which one? what am i supposed to take away from it? oh, and you could try a different framing maybe... but they are fine by me as is... except I don't understand what I am supposed to see. (as opposed to shot 4 for instance which tells about the beautiful lawn in front)

Great effort though, it's a wonderful location, and those are some very nice shots.

The top three work for me. They're very sharp and the angle you took them at is no nonsense, in a good way. I think they might be different looking if there were some storm clouds up there, perhaps some lightning, but you get what you can.

I would rotate the top one by ~ 1 degree to fix the very slight tilt. I like # 2's tension, but I think I might crop out just a little of the tree on the right. # 3 is plainer but still works. It also has a very slight tilt.

A very nice place, indeed.
