Did you post-process your photos to get a certain look out of them?

    Re: Old Timer

The subject is well chosen. The background compliments the subject, which is good. The whole scene is "period" and this is nice. She is positioned well in the frame and is in good focus. Her smile is magical and the light hitting the pupils of her eyes makes the scene for me. I would think about using a different processing style, maybe even BW. Also, if you are up to it, starting from the original, you can mask her, blur the background (Gaussian blur) and sharpen her very slightly to create a strong DOF ...this sometimes makes a stronger image ...however very nice either way.

I like the side light and the composition,
also like how the reflection from her blouse illuminates the shaded side if her face

I would have liked a bit more of space around her

    very nice !

the background is great. but in the face, way too much shadow/highlight.

thanks for the feedback everyone. llewpics, i'll try to create a stronger DOF as you said. n8 and AgingEyes, yep it is a heavy handed high pass with curve painting. thanks again. LeeIs, i'll try to cut back, but its new to me so i over use it as all beginners do.
