The Old Couple

Here is another shot with Trix. Same roll and lens just a different day and the other side of the lake. I actually live just a couple of houses from this lake.

3. I would consider cropping the grass in the foreground and see what it looks like. However I would keep the tree - gives it a nice frame

Nice one. For me, the tree adds balance to the frame with your subjects on the far right. The geese in the lake are an added plus. With the Tri-X tones and grain, this has a vintage feel to it.

Hmm. Peaceful overall. I am not sure the sidewalk (or at least that much of it) adds anything. The shot is slightly geometric, which I think bothers me a little. There is a lot of dark area here too, but I don't think you could do anything about it. The black and white is a bit of a plus, IMO.

Thanks all I was undecided about the sidewalk. I am happy with the tree in the shot but about 50-50 with the sidewalk. Thanks for the help.

Greg, I think if you are 50/50 on the sidewalk then just take half of it out and everything will be just right, Jeff

I think it would look better without the side walk but keeping the tree. I like the picture how it is but since you are undecided on the side walk, I say "no sidewalk."

Yeah... I just love this one. Whatever you did in post makes it look like a scene from another era. Perfect.

Grandpaw, Marco, Dray....Thanks. Dray I really did nothing in PPing. Cloned a small amount of trash. This was shot with a Summicron 50mm, 1950ish lens and TriX.

Nice Greg. Leave it as is. The sidewalk adds to the layers in the image. the couple stands out very well from the light, calm lake water. There is good balance overall here in the composition and I love grain and analog noise. there is texture . . .
