    Oh Canada

First try at shooting fireworks so take it easy.

Which one is better? Any other feedback would be appreciated. It was tough shooting. I was changing settings and composition on the fly.

I prefer #1 but for some reason it makes me think of the phrase " the rockets red glare " in that AmerIcan song.

Number one has some strong possibilities for me. It reminds me of a Van Gogh painting. I would try some cropping perhaps. The structure is great, but the trees are covering too much area.

The show in #1 is awesome !!!!

both can be a bit darker, a bit smaller aperture, time seems fine to me

Also I think your location could be better , but I understand, once they start you don't want to move

    Re: Oh Canada

    Thanks guys.

Gerald, no this was in Canada's wonderland in Toronto.

Arne, I agree about the trees on the bottom right.

Armando, I learned from that experience. I should've moved but you're right, it's hard to move when it's going on because you don't want to miss it. My biggest problem was, I didn't know what part of the sky it was going to happen. It was my first fireworks in Canada's wonderland.

I like both a lot for different reasons. Hard choice for me.

    The second one.

The first one looks a bit left-side heavy to me.

    Re: Oh Canada

Both are definitely keepers for different reasons.

The first gives a different perspective on fireworks and the patterns are wonderful and its different to normal firework photos.

The second is more of a typical photo but well done.

    Re: Oh Canada

They're both good. The first has better pattern, whereas the bottom one is more of a classical fireworks photograph I only wish that the building was properly lit like the fireworks are (hard to get those both right, I know).

Hey, just realized that your title here (Oh Canada) would be an awesome title for a post showing Canadian models!

    Re: Oh Canada

They are both wonderful, but #1 is big print material. Even the trees on the right side don't bother me.

I did do some scrolling, though, and wonder if #1 might work as a square(ish) crop, taken in from the right.

    GREAT work, though.
