    Angels Landing Trail

Shot in Zion NP. Angels Landing is that tall rock formation in the BG. The view from the top is well worth the hike. Shot with Velvia 50. Thought or comments?

Exceptional composition with a great "draw you in" appeal. I really like the framing done with the trees, particularly the right side where the limb comes just to the edge of the landing. This could turn out nice as a converted B&W as well. Nice!

I love this composition. Your eye follows the trail, and the trees frame the rock beautifully. My one critique would be the colors seem a tad soft, and I would expect a little more pop from the colors of such a beautiful area.

    Nice shot,

    Jared

Thanks for taking the time to look and comment!

Jared, I think the colors are a bit muted due to the scan. The actual slide "pops" a lot more than the digital version.

    Mike,

Understandable. Scanning can always deteriate the original! Nice shot though.

This is a beautiful shot Mike. It must be terrific when projected.
The one tiny nit I have is the bare branches sticking into the frame from above and I would recommend cropping to remove them. That will have the tree leaving the frame but I don't think that would be bad.

Thanks for looking and posting Chunk! I was waiting for someone to mention that branch. I don't have a projector yet, but it is on my list, alone with a lot of other stuff.

Lovely composition, Michael! The greens, blues, and reds compliment each other so well here. Brings back some fond memories of my recent trip to Zion.
Shoot in RAW because memory is cheap, but memories are priceless.
