I was trying to catch the mussel flash but I missed it.

Well done, except maybe a little more space above his head. I like how the shell casing is flying up there. Yes, it would have been better to catch the fire too, but it's not bad. Seems awful 'green', almost like Fuji film. Good shot of him, one that I think he will like.

I agree nice photograph. I wonder what it would look like with even a tighter crop on the shooter?

Nice capture Tyson. A little tight at the bottom but great exposure. I see that 500 hasn't quit yet. Are you still having problems?

And yes it is a shame that wasn't there too but this is fine as is.

Perhaps a longer exposure would have caught the flash but missed the shell casing in the air.

Greg, it only seems to act up in the cold. I keep the 500 in my truck all the time. Here in Ohio the temps go from 50 one day to 20 the next. It might just be the cold bothering it. I didn't crop the bottom, I just shot it that tight. I have it in my mind to get it right in camera and I have a single train of thought, tight,tight,tight. I need to start thinking out of the box a little because I am running into printing problems. When some on wants and 8x10 and a few 4x6 prints of the same shot, I always crop to 8x10 tight and forget to copy the image in its original form for the 4x6 crop. Plus the 4/3 frame will bite you in the butt if you shoot too tight. I am still learning. Some times it is better to give the subject some extra room and crop it in PS. I would love to try light room out, I have been using CS2.

Thats my rifle, I should make him pay for a picture and ammo LOL.
