And no more shall we part
    Hi guys,

After trying multiple things to get this object in a good photo my girlfriend walked through it and it caught my eye.
I added some vignetting to darken the sky a bit.

    Any thoughts on this one?

Wonderful shot. i do like the centering of the subject along with the symetry here and your GF walking the steps is a perfect touch. Her tall selnder silhouette is a good fit here.
i do think you could probably lose the vignette on this one but would have to see both versions to really be sure. I just guess it would look fine with light corners emphasizing the light and angles of the subject.

Did you convert to b&w? I am seeing what appears to be some magenta cast here and there and would suggest a conversion or complete desaturation.

    Nicely done.

Thanks for that Gary, it is one of my personal favourites since this afternoon (made the photo this afternoon).
The hue is from a warm filter i put on it. Just plain b&w was too cold for the atmosphere i wanted to achieve.

Attached a version without added vignetting and total B&W.
Let me know what you think

I like this, but the top and bottom just distract, especially the messy bits at the top. Crop both and it's almost as though she is on her way to the pearly gates...

I did try to crop the top and the bottom while adjusting the picture, but i didnt like it at all. It becomes just a photo of someone walking up the stairs.
    Sorry! :)

a wonderful image, it would be quite flat without her

I agree the bottom black squares do not add , maybe clone the wires coming out of the top of the pillars ?

I like it, but would like to see the top and bottom cropped tighter to remove the distractions..

Since you all seem to agree, here are two edits. Let me know what you think works best

I like the bottom cropped, but I still like the shapes visible at the top.

    Very well done.
it would have worked better if she was coming to you , as the title implies.

Hehe, funny, it says something about you as a person that you read the title that way :). (Not critisism, i mean you are probably a more positive thinker than me)

Anyways, if you read it diffirently you know what i mean, and no, walking towards you in this picture does not work for me as the flow of this picture is leading you into it, letting her turn around would destroy that flow.

    Excellent.

I like the bottom cropped, but not the top. And I like the toning in the first post.

    Very well done.
