    No. 6

Just got a Nikon 1 J1 and tried it out today with the 30-110mm lens.

After 12 years of DSLRs, I am really impressed with what the J1 can do.

This is a crop. I adjusted the contrast, and sharpened.

It kinda does. I have photographed dog races several times over the years and have always been reluctant to bring a big DSLR and big lens like the 70-200mm. It's a bit of a seedy environment and not the kind of place I want to stand out with a professional looking camera.

The J1 is very inconspicuous and it shoots up to 60 frames per second. Because it is a 12 shot burst, however, you effectively get 12 shots in a second. The autofocus is very fast and works well for something like this.

WOW!!!!!!! If I hadn't been stuffing my face with ice cream when I saw this my jaw would have hit the floor. Absolutely amazing. I am quite envious.

Great narrative with is shot lava, and as Cindy said a pinnacle moment. Took me a few seconds to work out why the dog had too many legs....
Looks like you have well and truly come to grips with your camera, great shot.

Isn't it a cool thing in nature that the colours never seem to clash...
