    night time photography
    i set this for a long exposure, i think about 20 seconds at a higher f/stop. let me know what you think.

    its a fountain if you didnt get it :thumbsup:

    This is the type of shot that would be better, earlier in the evening at dusk when more detail in the foreground would be possible and perhaps more interesting colour in the sky.
    I would also back off on the framing, to give more "breathing room" to the fountain at the top of the image. The effect of the slower shutter speed on the fountain is interesting and effective, but earlier in the evening it would be possible to experiment with a higher shutter speed as well.

    With water, it is necessary to balance between too slow a shutter speed and blasting out detail in the white area, and too fast a shutter speed and perhaps creating other visual problems.

    thanks ronnoco, i knew there was something about the picture that bothered me, and it was the "breathing room" next time, ill go back at an earlier time of day and go a bit faster on the SS and give it more room to breathe. Thanks.

    You may also want to consider framing this vertically as opposed to horizontally. You will still get some of the twinkly lights from the trees in the background but you can really emphasize the height of the fountain.
