    Night Macros

    Outside with a flashlight for focus, I used the Nikkor 50mm f1.8 lens with the Raynox macro adapter. I set the camera to f16 (iso 1600) and used the on camera flash for exposure. Plants and flowers looked very strange to me.

    I don't think these being shot at night added anything to the shot. I think you could have replicated the look shooting in daylight against a shadow or a black background.

    Why ISO 1600? At this distance with a strobe, you could have easily lowered the ISO (even at f/16) considerably.

    I dont know why. I guess I just never bothered to change it. I'm sure you are right.
