    Newport Harbor, Ca

Tried using my flash as fill light. Feedback encouraged. Is the lens flair too much?

I think the lens flare is a little much. Especially where it crosses onto their faces and neck. I like the idea of the fill lighting, but I think I would have worked to put the sun either directly behind them to protect against the extreme flaring or off to the side enough to help reduce it.

Agreed. I think #1 works kinda well...I like the purple that's sitting on the railing, but the flare spot on her neck is no good. I'd suggest working with your color a bit too, they could use some "pop." If you have CSsomething, going into LAB and bumping each setting up about one notch is a nice quickie that I saw a tutorial for.

The sun flair sort of hurts here Marco. In these situations, I use my hand just out of the viewfinder to block the sun rather than live with it. That also works better than some fancy , hard-to-use connected device. Anyway, as people shots they are interesting. the top gal looks like Angelina Jolie, the middle gal looks like she's had too much to drink already, and the bottom fellow looks a little too warm in that jacket. -GB

@n8 - I use lightroom. I will try to mess with them a bit on that to see if I can get that pop.

@GB1 @Ridgetop - I should have put my hand up. lol I thought the lens flair looked interesting but I should have tried both.

    Thanks
