New Critique Forum Moderator...
As I have mentioned, I am stepping down to presue a graduate degree.
I am not totally leaving you without a moderator to guide this ship.
I am pleased to announce that the Critique Forum will be moderatorated by "gahspidy".
I will be here as a co-moderator helping Gary out.
Let's Welcome Gary!
Brian

Re: New Critique Forum Moderator...
Thanks for the Intro, Brian. I have been a member of PhotographyReview.com for almost three years now, and along with it's vast wealth of forums, reviews, information I have found the Photo Critique forum to be one of the most valuable tools in the progression and improvement of my photography. It is why I spend most of my time at this site in the Critique forum. Since I have been here, I have learned in a calm, nurturing environment that has enabled me to feel confident in posting my photos and recieve the kind of critique and feedback that has encouraged me and opened my mind to more than I ever thought when I first ventured out with a camera. I thank Brian for providing this sort of atmosphere in this room and I will try to do my best to keep it this way for the rest of us and the new comers along the way.
Greg, thanks for your welcome.

Re: New Critique Forum Moderator...
I had my fingers crossed! I'm glad to see my wish came true! Brian, you've been an excellent and fair moderator and I'm glad to know we will still have you around the boards and keeping things smooth. I couldn't think of a better candidate for the role than Gary. Great choice! And Gary, thank you for making the time to contribute even more to this forum. I have always considered your input fair, honest and beyond reproach. Glad to see that's something we'll be able to count on in the future at this forum.
Looking forward to another fascinating year at the PR boards!

Re: New Critique Forum Moderator...
Can't think of a better choice for the Critique Forum moderator. This is a natural fit.
Ccongratulations Gary and welcome to the new position. I think that you and Brian have held this forum together over the last several months somewhat as a team anyway. I certainly see a smooth seamless transition and with Brian keeping his fingers in there it is little doubt that CF will keep it high standards and continue to grow. Thanks for taking this task on and good luck with it.

Re: New Critique Forum Moderator...
Well, thanks to everyone for your good words of encouragement and confidence. Brian has been a big factor in keeping this room such a great place to learn and expand, but also the members of this forum have always been and continue to be quality people. I will do my best to keep the ship on course as Brian has done so well over the years.
Hey drg, funny you should mention my new/first DSLR! It just arrived today and is sitting there patiently for me to finish up here so I can finally explore the realm of digital capture, and put away the film, for now anyway.

You can stop with the accolades ... :D :p
Digital? You know Gary, I have always felt your process was a little unusual, but it was film, but what's this digital stuff?
Maybe I didn't make such a great choice....
 :D
Just kidding!!
What is the new camera anyway?
Brian

Re: New Critique Forum Moderator...
Congrats to the both of you!
Brian, I hope the RF and studying doesn't keep you from posting those super cool Holga shots. Good luck with school, and don't be a stranger!
Gary, you've always given great critique, and I'm sure you'll be a great moderator. Congrats on the DSLR. Welcome to the dark side. :)

I am not giving up the Holga Paul. No Way!
I don't want you to give it up either!
I think a RF will be an excellent comapnion to it.
Thanks! I am not sure to what extent I'll be or not be around, but I will.

Re: New Critique Forum Moderator...
Thanks Paul and Steve.
Brian, I was holding out for the Canon 5D, but after some research and reviewing I decided the Rebel XTi would work for me, for now. I will still keep the Elan 7 around and all the film I have for it stored in the fridge. There are too many advantages and conveniences in shooting digital and I am looking forward to them finally.
what about you. . .you know, I hear there is talk of a new Digital Holga. It is said to have all the usual light leaks in the body. The sensor will be comprised of a few older sensors fused together. The image frame will have about 6MP in the upper third portion, about 3MP in the right corner, and 8MP to the lower portion, and I think, filler and epoxy filling in the gaps. Also will have a warp to it creating some interesting distortion. This beauty will shoot all day long as it will carry a huge battery pack said to house a 6 volt lantern battery. I think you will finally make the switch :D (just kidding, of course)
