Re: On the Street from the Bus

These are alright personal captures, good timing. The thing thats bothering me about the first one is the out of focus bushes on the bottom. She also looks a bit soft, and I would have liked to see her feet in there to keep the whole body in frame. The third one looks a little flat, widening levels should bring out the colors and make them pop, but the crop is also a little too tight I'm afraid, maybe you have a bit more on the original? I like the second one, though it probably should have been shot half a stop faster for the blown shirt (though thats a pretty picky nit pick). Good composition on it with the straight line on the right, good color range too. Next time you see something like this try to get something interesting in the reflection too. Although - if you shot these all from the bus then I certainly understand you are very limited.

These are all bus shots. You have to take thwem as they come. I'm using a "high pass sharpening" filter in Paint Shop Pro X. That gives the imaghe a certain poster-flattening effect.

Use photoshop then ;), smart sharpen and unsharp mask can work wonders.

Don - as always a little social history from you! The ever-so-cool youngster who looks a little uncomfortable in his skin, to the very contained lady on the mobile phone, to the kids having a ball on their bike. It makes me wonder who they are and what their story is. You see life from a bus, if you allow yourself to look.

    Cheers

Some guys are good at catching wildlife. They see things I dont see at all. I like to grab chunks of life from the safety of a bus. It's cowardice too.

Don, it's a unique perspective to say the least. I like these slices of life.....something you capture that most of us let go unseen.
