    You are off to a great start. Good subject and well framed and shot. Might be different if he/she was looking at you. (Eye contact is always nice in a portrait.)

    I have several shots posted for critique as well. I would love to read what you think. Thanks for sharing.

    Not bad at all for a first shot.
    Read all you can about how to use f/stops, shutter speed, iso, framing, etc. and I know it will get even better.
