    My Saltwater Fish Tank

These are just 3 photos I shot of my salt water fish tank.
I just got this 300s, the weather is rainy so I shot 2 indoor photos at 3200.
This is what I have so far

Nice shots! The live rock looks very healthy. Any anemones for the percula to hang out in? - TF

    Hi Bluesman,
    Welcome to PR.
Saturation and exposure look spot on.
Since you posted in the Critique forum. I have a few suggestions you could try to improve the sharpness.
For the wider shots that includes the living rock Iwould try your 18 - 70mm to increase DOF.
For me the beautiful rock is as important and the fish. Of course when you zoom up on just the fish a nice bokah
    really accentuates the fish.

Use a tripod if you aren't already.

Would love to see a wide angle of the whole tank. I'm a fish keeper as well and love looking at other setups.

Thanks. I really just took shots. The camera did the work. Funny you should ask about anenomes. There were none when I got the tank, now they are all over

    I did use the 18 - 70, but I don't have a wide angle lens.
I could try to take a shot of the whole tank and see what I can do with the software.
I can't wait to really learn this camera. Right now I am just getting used to it.
I'll try the tripod as well. Thanks!
I am grabbing lunch, then I'll shoot the whole tank with tripod

That's OK - I tried a shot of the whole tank with tripod, but I am not happy with it. I have to downsize it to get it on here. I saw your link for larger photos....

This is just a 30 gallon setup.
2 clowns, a cleaner shrimp and smails and hermits. Some soft coral also.
When I bought the live rock, there was hardly any color tp them. It just keeps changing every day. Anyway, for what it's worth, this is the tank

Very nice. Thanks for taking the time to shoot and post it. I really like the layout of the rock. You have a good eye.

I have 100's of shots of my aquariums and fish but I am never satisfied with the results.
There has to be a trick to shooting through the glass that I have not learned yet.

The water has to be crystal clear, but you still loose a little clarity through water and glass somehow. I tried a flash but all the rock just doesn't look natural.

Thanks for the compliment on the rock :-).I am also a member of a fish tank forum and won several medals with the D70s, but other people have taken some breath taking shots of their fish. I will have to ask how they do it. I find using the camera in Macro and getting real close up on the tank, you get great clear shots, but of course you can't take the entire setup

    Thanks for looking
