    my ride
I am planning to reshoot this one when I can get there in better light but I want some opinions on it before I do. It is over sharpened and over color corrected on purpose to give it that sort of magazine ad feel.

The reshoot will be at either morning twilight or dawn for a more sexy feel in the background.

C&C are most welcome. Especially on the crooked framing in image #2

good atmosphere, nice car, good to keep it clean

For #1, try backing up and using a telephoto lens, it'll bring the city closer, and do it at the golden hour since the city seems kind of flat.

    #2 is perfect.

Try some night or dusk shots, maybe with parking lights on.

Play with water, water droplets on the car are great.

Also do some HDR, and if you can get that flash off camera, do that. (I'm buying a remote trigger for mine in the next couple of weeks)

This might give you some inspiration

I like your skies and I really like the bottom image. You have a great background and the not level perspective really works for me. I can see going back to shoot more but this one is going to be tough to top.

They are both good shots but if the car is the subject I think the backgrounds are so good it takes some away from the car. Almost to busy. Even though the backgrounds would stand as great landscapes without the car. Great processing on them both. I love the colors.

in the first one i think the buildings look almost as if they are growing out of the car. i think that if you gave the car some kind of glow, or boarder it would stop that. i like both, both are great pictures. the only issue i have is the buildings and the car for some reason just distract me in the first one

Number2 is potentially the best shot but there simply too much competition between ship and car for the viewers eye.

Cars are not really my thing, however, I have got something that might be of interest: I would be careful with a background like in photo number 2, the ship looks massive and impressive and in my opinion it attracts more attention than the car. The massive steel of the vessel just looks more powerful than the fragile car. I don't think this is your intention with the photograph.

I think the ship is a good thing, it shows how much more refined the car is.

That Eclipse body was always the best.

I enjoy looking at the shots and appreciate the postwork.

On the second shoot, make sure your wheels and tires are clean and shiney. Spruce them up on location. Clean your wheel wells also.

I really like the top one. It has that glamor look to it, a nice sexy sports car ready to take on the city feel. But I wish you could have shot her from a little lower to give it a more dominating feel AND still gotten Seattle's skyline in there -- doesn't look like you could though. Maybe that calls for finding a slightly different angle of ground nearby and trying it there instead.

i like the shots, you should of turned your front wheels so we can see those wheels. you don't want to show off your dirty under carriage. I like the angle and background too.

Thanks for all the comments guys. I went back for the Re-shoot this morning and although the clouds did not cooperate as well the sky line looked incredible at dawn. I gave the car a good bath and avoided all puddles on the way there this morning to keep the wheel wells clean... re-added a tire treatment before the shoot, and went nuts with the camera for about 20 - 25 min until the light went beyond what I wanted for the skyline.

GB - If that's Seattle's skyline then my tele lens is way better than I thought lol. I live in Toronto.. they stole our building design for the space needle damnit. lol That is the one and ONLY CN Tower... currently the tallest free standing structure in the world... until the on under construction somewhere in Japan tops it upon it's completion in 2010.

OK here's the first shot out of post from this morning. I could not recreate the bottom shot from the first post however as the ship has been relocated and was no long docked where I could shoot it =(

    Re: my ride
They are both good. Both are cropped too tightly - you need a little more breathing room. The 1st shot needs the wheel wells washed out - you wouldn't see that in a car mag, would 'ya? The second shot is terrific, although I don't like the license plate.

Lava - it was a test shot =P .. see the reshoot image above your post lol

Barb 48 - We didn't make it to the ex this year at all. Summer just went by way too fast. Seems like every weekend we had something planned and before we knew it the summer was over and the ex is gone =( ... I missed walking in the parade today (proud to be a Union Member) because I had to work. Someone has to work so the rest of us can walk though lol.
