    My photos so far

How are these? I've been shooting for about a year, and these are probably my better shots from the year

That's the rest of my little portfolio, if you want to call it that

Not bad work. The f-stop blurring in the first one bothers me a little bit, but there isn't anything technically wrong with it, and it is a good shot.

You have some really nice shots. I would suggest that you only post one or two per thread, people would be more likely to respond with fewer :tasks".

But #1 strikes me the most. I like the perspective with the bench in the foreground and the light rays on the right.

I would like to comment on the BW puppy pic. I really like the pose and the "emotion" the dog seems to convey. There is a nice lighting in the eyes that adds to the effect. I think cropping could use some work - there are some objects on the right side of the picture (3 darker squares and some other stuff) that really do not belong.

    Re: My photos so far

Good work so far. I really love the 1st one. The harsh light that's lighting up the seat works really well. The perspective of it, adds depth to the scene. Nice silky water and reflections. The beams of light are curiously still (even in a long exposure) I like it how they light up a few spots in the clouds. I've got issues with the over blown bits in the middle of the frame, Also, don't know if I like the grass or not.

The 2nd shot is nice but to contrasty and dark for a day shot. I wish it was lighter/less contrasty. This amount of contrast might have worked for a b&w but to me it doesn't work on a day nature shot.

oh and the dog portrait is reall nice, love expression and great b&w tones.

The last one doesn't do anything for me. too flat too dark.

anyways, great work and welcome to PR

    Re: My photos so far

These are some really great shots! I am really drawn to the first one ( I have a little love affair with long exposure shots). The water is fantastically still almost like a sheet of glass, but the little light flares in the upper right corner seem a little out of place. The second one makes me feel like I am right there with you, the depth that you captured is fantastic, but the the contrast is a little high for me. I normally like pics with a shallow DOF, but I agree with llewpics that the dark squares in the third shot are a little distracting in an otherwise wonderful shot. I'm not really drawn to the fourth one- the composition feels slightly off to me, but that is just my two cents. Good luck with your future photographic endevors!
