    My girlfriends graduation photos. help!

I need some help on correcting this image. Something seems out of whack. If you could help me, that would be soo appreciated. Thanks!

*Some qualities of the image dont carry over into JPEG, and its really frustrating me.. This is the closest I can get it to the actual image.

Re: My girlfriends graduation photos. help!

On my monitor at work I detect a slight bit of green overcast around her face toward the left her right side. This monitor isn't calibrated, but is usually pretty close in color. Thats the only thing I see that is wrong.

    Hmmm

There does seem to be a slight blue-green cast to her outfit. I find her skin tones to be pretty close to where they should be, but they could be a tad bit warmer. I read something by a glamour photographer who said no matter what you do, always lean (or error) towards the side of warm skin tones. I think her's here are just a tad bit cold. You can adjust this in PS or something, but it will prob warm up the entire photo too - which isn't a bad thing, since as I mentioned, it is a little too bluish already.

    Hope this helps!

Are you shooting UP at her?

All in all, I don't see anything wrong with the shot. I'm sure she'll like it.

    That's what I was wondering.

SpeedingSphere, maybe you should elaborate on your concerns for this shot.

I hope you don't mind, I used the auto color balance and I think it looks better.

I looked at your image in photoshop and the first thing I noticed is that you have it saved in the Adobe RGB color space. You need to convert it to sRGB for the web (go to Image, Mode, Convert to Profile, then select "Working RGB - sRGB IEC61966-2.1"). Then if you play around a bit with color balance and selective color in PS you can basically elimiate that slight green cast that is on the image.

I was shooting up at her, but by a slight amount, and I have noticed the greenish tint. After taking these comments into consideration, and the colorspace change(Thanks a ton for that tip, schrackman) Here is my revised image. Looks much better IMO.

There ya go! You can still get that greenish cast off the building if you play with it a bit more. But the rest looks good to me.

By the way, keep the Adobe RGB color space when you are preparing digital files for your prints. Just don't use it for the web or email.

Re: My girlfriends graduation photos. help!

Ok so I'll set my camera to Adobe, and convert for every photo being saved for the web, that is a very valuable tip. Thanks!

Ok heres one with all green cast removed(as far as I can see on my LCD)

And now I'm just waiting on my photo ink and I'll print this in 8.5"x11" :-D

Thanks for the help guys! I'm sure I'll be back with more like these later though. Great help so far!
