Great Picture! I think you've done a super job of capturing your dog out loving his/her life! If it were mine I would lighten the shadows just a smidgen so you could see the definition of his other eye, but that's just nit picking. Considering the lighting I think you did a great job of freezing the action here. For next time you might want to think about popping up your on camera flash just for fill light and to really make your dog pop out of the picture. But I think overall this is very realistic, I've certainly seen my dogs on the beach in similar light.
I realize this could be anywhere but it really reminds me of the outer banks of N.C., definitely the east coast. Welcome to the PR Boards!

Nice freeze frame there. A little too much space behind him but other than that nitpick it is really neat how you caught him in that particular stance.

    Nice capture

A little fill flash would have helped this, and like mentioned before more frame before your dog than after. I have the same problem when I am panning, I tend to lose the composition. When shooting a moving subject it usually helps to have more space in front, somewhere for the subject to move to, rather than behind the subject, because he's already been there.

Looks like your dog is taking the piss and is trying to imitate how you walk. A bit of a crop from behind and he'll hardly notice.

    Great dog picture indeed.
