I shot this today with a D70 and 75-300 zoom, cropped it and adjust the sharpness and contrast a little in photoshop elements. What do you think? How would you change it.

    That's awesome.

I might use selective color and replace color to downplay the background, but don't have to.

Very nice, how much is the crop? That's one I'd want to print 13x19... how big is that at 300dpi printed?

 Don't change a thing, that is an awesome image, I like everything about it, that would be great hanging on a wall in a den or living room.

I like how the head of the bird is in good focus and there's just a slight motion blur on the wing tips. Gives it a nice dynamic look. I'm with everyone else, I just want to see it bigger, a lot bigger! Excellent capture.. If you don't mind, what are the specifics of the settings you used? how much zoom, f stop, shutter & iso??

great shot. i wonder how high up he is from the ground. it looks like he might have just splashed down and hit some water.

Great shot! The only thing I might change is color saturation. Tough to tell how much you could increase it before the image deteriorated. Deke McClelland did a nice tutorial on how to do this, but I forget where I saw it. I might also add a nice big fish into its talons...kidding : ) Well done and lovely shot.

Thanks for all the responses. It was shot at f/5.6 and 1/500. It is cropped a good bit - maybe 60%. I live on a small lake and the osprey was circling low and hitting the water repeatedly. Normally, they just swoop in once from way up.

F8 and bump the ISO up to keep 1/500th......

That would bring the wings in focus better and still not make the BNG to distracting

    GREAT SHOT :)

That is just a terrific shot. If you cropped it, I'm assuming that you were racked out to 300 on you lens. Nice job. Very sharp for handheld.

    Again, well done.
